The Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (OFA) has formulated a series of concrete proposals to improve Romania’s Industrial Strategy for 2024-2030, aimed at supporting the transition of Romanian industry towards more sustainable and innovative practices.
These proposals focus on integrating net-zero technologies, simplifying administrative procedures, securing access to raw materials, supporting energy-intensive industries, and enhancing innovation and digitalization capabilities.
OFA’s key proposals:
Support for net-zero technologies:
OFA recommends introducing a clear legislative framework and developing the necessary infrastructure to promote net-zero technologies, which are essential for reducing carbon emissions.
This support includes specific measures for high-energy-consuming industries that require financial and fiscal incentives to adopt sustainable technologies.
Simplification of authorization procedures:
OFA highlights the need to simplify and digitalize administrative processes to attract investments in green technologies.
These measures would accelerate the transition to a green economy by reducing bureaucracy and setting clear deadlines for obtaining necessary authorizations.
Securing raw materials:
OFA emphasizes the importance of ensuring access to critical raw materials by developing national extraction and recycling capacities.
A national recycling plan, international partnerships, and an adapted legislative framework are essential for securing essential industrial raw materials.
Creating net-zero industrial corridors:
OFA proposes the development of regional industrial clusters dedicated to net-zero technologies, supporting SMEs in integrating into European and global value chains.
This initiative could stimulate cross-sector collaboration and facilitate access to advanced technologies.
Support for innovation and digitalization:
To increase competitiveness, OFA recommends developing a national framework for research and development (R&D) and digitalization, including strategies and digital infrastructure necessary to support industries in their transition to a digital economy.
Investment in workforce training:
OFA suggests creating net-zero academies and adapting the education system to include workforce training and retraining in green technologies, essential for supporting the industry in the long term.
Reducing bureaucracy:
OFA’s document highlights the need for concrete measures to reduce bureaucracy and legislative obstacles, proposing the simplification and acceleration of administrative procedures, reduction of bureaucratic burdens, and complete digitalization.
